Decatur Chess was built by Jacob Jones, a local player, who wanted chess to be more accessible here — not just as competition, but as a way for people to think sharply, connect meaningfully, and enjoy something that has outlasted every trend for 1,500 years.
Honest note on skill level: instruction here is best suited for beginners and players up to approximately 1200 rated. If you're advanced or tournament-level, I'll tell you straight — and point you toward stronger resources that will actually serve you better.
